Sojourning out onto a frozen lake in the middle of winter, drilling a hole in the ice, and dropping a fishing line into the water is as classic Northwoods as it gets . If you’ve ever wanted to give ice fishing a try but didn’t know where to start, read on . This class is designed for those with little or no experience ice fishing . We’ll cover everything you need to know to safely partake in this winter adventure . Topics covered in this demonstration class will include how to determine safe ice conditions, tactics for catching slab panfish and lunker gamefish, along with all of the equipment you’ll need, ranging from the basics of a pole, an auger, and bait to the latest in high-tech fish-finding electronics . Since this is a great activity for kids, families are encouraged to attend . First part of class will be indoors followed by time on the ice .
