NRF's Great Wisconsin Birdathon Launch

Gather your flock for Wisconsin's largest birding event! The Birdathon runs from April 15 to June 15 every year. It’s like a walk-a-thon-style fundraiser, but instead of logging miles, participants are logging bird sightings. Participation is free and everyone is welcome – no birding experience necessary! Participate with friends, family, colleagues, or even as a classroom team! Ways to get involved: either form a team, do the birdathon as an individual, or donate to the cause! The Great Wisconsin Birdathon is the largest fundraiser for bird conservation in Wisconsin, raising over $1 million since its start in 2012! The Birdathon is hosted annually by the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin, and proceeds are collected and managed through the Bird Protection Fund. Last year alone, more than 600 people from across the state participated in the event to fund 10 critical bird conservation and education projects. These projects will protect Wisconsin’s threatened and endangered birds by restoring habitat, monitoring bird populations, and inspiring new bird conservationists. Nonprofits, bird clubs, and Bird Cities are also eligible to keep 50% of the funds they raise for their own organization. Go birding for a cause!
