Real Talk Recovery: Progress in the Northwoods
Name:
Real Talk Recovery: Progress in the Northwoods
Date:
September 17, 2026
Time:
8:00 AM - 7:30 PM CDT
Event Description:
A practical day of resources and connection just west of town, supporting workforce wellness and community health. Resource fair, speakers, panels, and raffle focused on recovery and mental health, privacy-first (no clinical detail about individuals). Keynote speaker Tom Farley- author of The Chris Farley Show, brother of the late Chris Farley, and a nationally know advocate for addiction recovery and substance use awareness- has close ties to Wisconsin's Northwoods. His family used to camp just north of where this event is held, in the Lac du Flambeau/Lake of the Torches area. Tom's yes to this gathering was a catalyst for its creation; what began with that commitment has grown, in less than a year, into the inaugural Real Talk Recovery: Progress in the Northwoods- a full-scale community day built on radically honest recovery conversation (mile or millimeter progress, no toxic positivity).
