Events & Member Engagement Manager
Reports to: CEO
Status: Non-Exempt Hourly Staff
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Typically M-F with some nights and weekends for events
Compensation & Benefits: Compensation is commensurate with experience. Benefits package includes HSA contribution, Simple IRA with 3% match, Employer paid ST, LT, AD&D coverage, PTO, Sick Time and paid holidays.
General Summary
The primary role of the Events & Member Engagement Manager is to promote the Rhinelander Area and RACC members through the development and implementation of special events, programs to bolster member engagement. Key duties include: Coordination of all aspects of events and programs, engaging members to advance the Chamber’s mission, recruit and retain Chamber Members, and furthering the Chamber goals and initiatives.
Specific Duties
Event & Program Tasks
- Collaborates with the CEO to develop and execute the Chamber’s annual calendar of events and programs.
- Plan and manage all Chamber-hosted events including, but not limited to: Annual Gala & Fundraiser, Up North Community Expo, Hodag Heritage Festival, Art Fair on the Courthouse Lawn and Rhinelander Car Show, Empowering Leaders Conference and Holiday with the Legends.
- Coordinate Chamber programs designed to engage and connect members, including: Business After 5, Leadership Oneida County, Business Education Series, etc.
- Manage all aspects of event production including site selection, vendor coordination, contracts, permits, budgets, marketing coordination, volunteers, and on-site logistics.
- Work with the CEO to establish goals, budgets, and performance measures for Chamber events and programs.
- Coordinate with the Director of Marketing & Communications to promote events and programs through appropriate marketing channels.
- Serve as primary volunteer coordinator.
- Serve as staff liaison for any event planning committees.
- Provide guidance or assistance to community organizations hosting events when appropriate and aligned with the Chamber’s mission, as directed by the CEO.
Member Engagement & Relationship Support
- Foster meaningful engagement with Chamber members through events, programs, and outreach that strengthen member relationships and participation.
- Assist with welcoming and onboarding new members through introductions at events, programs, and networking opportunities.
- Support membership retention efforts by helping ensure members are aware of Chamber programs, events, and benefits.
- Work collaboratively with the CEO and Chamber staff to identify opportunities to enhance member participation and satisfaction.
- Assist with the Rhinelander Area Guide Project – Promote and sell advertisements and review for accuracy.
Other Tasks
- Promote the benefits of the Chamber and sell new memberships throughout the community.
- Assist CEO – Assist in management of retention plan and general membership correspondence.
- Provide support to all staff as directed by the CEO.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the Rhinelander area is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, especially in using the internet, Zoom, Adobe, Canva, Social Media platforms, Microsoft Office programs, and email. Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.
- Exceptional organization skills and a strong ability to work independently. Must possess excellent communication skills and follow through.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Must have demonstrated professional telephone and email etiquette.
- Must have ability to maintain confidentiality as needed.
