SDR Earns Gold-Level Family Friendly Workplace Certification

The School District of Rhinelander has earned Gold Certification as a Family Friendly Workplace!

This recognition reflects our commitment to supporting our employees not only as educators and staff members, but also as parents, caregivers, spouses, and members of our community. The certification recognizes practices related to employee benefits, child care support, workplace flexibility, and family-friendly policies.

A huge thank you to our School Board, administration, and staff for helping create a culture where people are supported and valued.

And this is just the beginning. Our School Board and administration are committed to continuing to look for additional ways to make SDR an even more family-friendly place to work. We want SDR to be a great place to learn AND a great place to work!

Nicolet College Foundation Friends & Partner Award

Last night, SDR leaders and school board members had the honor of accepting the 2026 Nicolet College Foundation Friends & Partner Award on behalf of our entire Hodag community.

This recognition celebrates the power of partnership—our incredible Partners in Education and employer partners, and our SDR staff.

And a special thank you to Nicolet College for helping connect K-12 education, employers, and post-secondary opportunities. These partnerships are creating meaningful pathways for our students and strengthening our entire Northwoods community.

Technical Education Facility Ribbon Cutting — September 21

We are just days away from celebrating another major milestone!

Please join us Monday, September 21, at 4:30 p.m. in the RHS Commons for the ribbon cutting of our new Rhinelander High School Technical Education facilities, followed by our regular School Board meeting at 6:00 p.m.

Even more exciting—all of the new classrooms will be in full use by the end of this week!

These incredible spaces will expand opportunities in trades, manufacturing, construction, automotive, marine technology, fabrication, and more—an important investment in our students and the future workforce of the Northwoods.

Three great examples of what happens when we invest in our people, our students, and our partnerships.
