Samoset Council Scouts to Celebrate America's 250th Through Service at Fall Jamboree
As our nation continues to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, Scouting America is answering the call to serve through Impact365, a nationwide initiative encouraging Scouts to make a difference in their communities every day of the year. Built on the values of character, citizenship, and service, Impact365 challenges Scouts across the country to contribute toward more than 8 million hours of community service.
Samoset Council is proud to support this initiative by making service the centerpiece of the America 250 Jamboree, taking place September 25–27, 2026, at Camp Tesomas in Rhinelander. During the event, Scouts and adult volunteers will participate in a variety of meaningful service projects benefiting local nonprofit organizations, veterans, community agencies, and conservation efforts throughout the Northwoods.
"Service has always been at the heart of Scouting," said Kristin Tobin, Senior District Executive for the Northwoods District. "The America 250 Jamboree gives our Scouts an opportunity to honor our nation's history not only by celebrating it, but by giving back to the communities that have supported Scouting for generations."
The America 250 Jamboree reflects Scouting America's commitment to developing young people of character while strengthening local communities. By combining outdoor adventure with hands-on service, Scouts will leave Camp Tesomas having made a lasting impact that extends far beyond the weekend.
Northwoods United Way, and Habitat for Humanity Rhinelander will be coordinating the service projects for the volunteers. If you have a service project idea for your agency please contact Nancy Sattler at Northwoods United Way 715-202-3344 or nwuway@newnorth.net.
